I always get so happy when other shakespeare fans don’t like As You Like It.   listen if you give me a choice of which play I want to watch and that’s one of the two options, almost every other play is going to win over it.  not all of them, no, but so many.  & it’s so popular! Some People have the audacity to say it’s better than Twelfth Night!  come not near me with that opinion Twelfth Night is a beautiful gift and As You Like It is weird and boring and the only thing it has going for it is letting a lady speak the most lines of anyone, incl. the epilogue

ok also Stratford letting Seanna McKenna play Jacques not as a pants role but as a woman and then also making the Duke a woman adn then slashing them was pretty darn inspired, I’m very here for misanthropic flannel-wearing nature photographer lesbians and gentle courtly pearl-wearing high society lesbians falling in love

I am curled up in a tiny alcove on a comfy sofa with a warm afghan

I am in Canada where the weather is March

and it is raining

I am in an attic room

I can hear it drumming on the roof

Breakfast is downstairs in just a few minutes

then I am going to go into town and wander

and buy a teapot and some used copies of Arden editions of Shakespeare plays.

So, hey, one of the best (frivolous) purchases I have made all year is a 6-cup teapot in a lovely green and a glass teapot warmer, along with the 50-count bag of tealights I bought last year. I am sitting here and enjoying endless cups of chai tea with honey, and it is just about as perfect as you can get.

I seem to have a thing for the color green lately, actually, which is interesting. I always used to just reach for whatever shade of blue was available, or lavender if they had it, but now I'm all about greeeeen.

We now have tickets to Stratford, which was literally nightmare-inducingly stressful, but ALL IS WELL. I've even started putting together a comprehensive excel sheet scheduling our time there HUR I AM SO ORGANIZED HUR.

The mist on the window is sparkling in the sunlight.

I have been frustrated in the past few days by my complete inability to be at my best during daylight hours. I've several errands that can only be run during the time the rest of the world keeps, and yet every time morning edges into civilized hours I find myself either crashing to sleep or tangled up in whatever. I don't even know. It's a little annoying, though.

Despite that, I have been making some headway into my many lists, and also in organizing my lists of what is yet to be done. There are excel sheets, which I cannot but feel is a little excessive, but it's also convenient.

Worf likes her new window-perch, though I think she's still ambivalent about the foam cushion. I am trying to not panic as box-office opening day for Stratford looms. Trying to Stay Organized and Make Plans. Arrrrrgh I am so bad both at Being Organized and at Laying Plans. HELP ME, EXCEL SPREADSHEETS.

Sickness pretty much gone, save for the lingering cough. Damn cough.

I don't have much to say that is exciting to anyone but me, I am afraid. And unfortunately, I'm really tired right now and am just going to go to sleep instead of staying up and getting stuff done when places are open. Because I am a lazy shibi, but also because for all that I've been either too tired to trust my judgement/asleep during any of the useful hours of the past week, I've actually been getting far too little sleep overall. Whatever, it's a Sunday morning in southern Indiana, everything's closed anyway.
